Education and Research
Addiction Professional Training and Consultation Services
A division of Fairbanks, Training and Research is a leading provider of professional education and consultation in the area of substance use disorders, co-occurring disorders, addiction treatment and recovery management. In partnership with state and federal government agencies, community organizations and corporations, Education and Research provides current research-based information to treatment and recovery professionals throughout the Midwest.
Education and Research provides consultation to treatment programs and agencies in the form of in-service presentations, discussions and tailored on-site training programs in addition to single day and multiple day training events.
The Indiana Professional Licensing Agency, as well as the Indiana Counselor's Association on Alcohol and Drug Abuse (ICAADA), accredits all training events.
Research
Fairbanks has long been involved with several long-term studies on alcoholism and has recently embarked on studies to evaluate the outcomes as well as the effectiveness of major treatment interventions. Training and Research is an active participant in substance abuse and addiction treatment research. In partnership with several universities, including Indiana University School of Medicine, Training and Research is contributing to a better understanding of the disease of addiction and the effectiveness of treatment.
